TRIPLE HOMICIDE IN MONROE: POLICE INVESTIGATING AFTER THREE FOUND SHOT TO DEATH, INCLUDING 2-YEAR-OLD CHILD

MONROE, La. — A devastating tragedy has shaken the Monroe community after Li Ojay, along with a 26-year-old man and a 2-year-old child, were found dead early Tuesday morning in what authorities are calling a triple homicide.

According to the Monroe Police Department, officers responded to a residence on Grammont Street—near the city’s public works department—at approximately 2:30 a.m. Tuesday after reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered three victims inside the home, all suffering from fatal gunshot wounds to the head.

One of the victims has been identified as Li Ojay, while the other two victims include a 26-year-old man and a 2-year-old child. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released the names of the other two victims pending family notification.

Authorities described the scene as “deeply disturbing” and said detectives are working around the clock to piece together the sequence of events that led to the deadly shooting. Investigators spent much of the morning combing through the area for evidence, interviewing potential witnesses, and collecting surveillance footage from nearby properties.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made. Police have also not released any information regarding a possible motive behind the killings.

Monroe Police officials emphasized that this remains an active and ongoing investigation and are urging anyone with information—no matter how small—to come forward.

“This is a heartbreaking and senseless tragedy that has taken the lives of innocent victims, including a small child,” a Monroe Police spokesperson said. “We are committed to finding whoever is responsible and bringing justice to these victims and their families.”

The department is asking anyone with relevant information to contact the Monroe Police Department or Crime Stoppers of North Delta, where anonymous tips may be submitted.

Authorities say more details will be released as the investigation continues.

This horrific incident marks one of the most disturbing acts of violence in Monroe in recent years and has left neighbors and the broader community reeling. Grief counselors and local outreach organizations are reportedly coordinating efforts to support family members and residents affected by the tragedy.

Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
