Tragic Night in Jackson: Quinton Boggan Killed, Christopher Nicholson Arrested, Two Injured in Separate Crash

JACKSON, Miss. – The Jackson community is mourning following a tragic night that involved multiple incidents, including a shooting that claimed the life of 39-year-old Quinton Boggan and a four-vehicle crash on Lakeland Drive that left two injured. The shooting occurred in the 2100 block of Thousand Oaks Drive around 7:30 p.m. on October 23, 2025. Interim Jackson Police Chief and Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones confirmed that Quinton was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) but sadly passed away shortly after arrival. Following the incident, 18-year-old Christopher Nicholson was arrested in connection with the shooting and charged with capital murder.

Authorities report that the suspect initially fled into a nearby wooded area before his arrest. The community is urged to come forward with any information that could assist the ongoing investigation.
