Tragic Incident Under Investigation After Theresa Dipinto Dies from Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

CLINTON, TN – October 14, 2025 — The Clinton Police Department is investigating a deeply tragic incident that occurred Friday evening, October 11, 2025, in which 57-year-old Theresa Dipinto, a resident of Washington State, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound along N. Charles Seivers Boulevard.

According to authorities, officers responded around 6:00 p.m. to the 1200 block of N. Charles Seivers Blvd. after receiving reports of a shooting inside a vehicle traveling westbound. Upon arrival, officers discovered a heartbreaking scene. Dipinto was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the incident.

Investigators say that before taking her own life, Ms. Dipinto first shot and killed her dog, which was also inside the vehicle. Despite the rapid response of emergency personnel, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Clinton Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting. The final cause and manner of death will be confirmed following the completion of the Medical Examiner’s report. Officials have described the case as a deeply emotional and tragic event that has affected all involved, including the responding officers and those close to Ms. Dipinto.

In a statement, the Clinton Police Department extended its condolences to the family and loved ones impacted by this devastating event, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
