PRESS RELEASE: Shooting Investigation — Suspects Jordan Jackson and Larry Jackson in Custody

LA PORTE, IN — October 15, 2025 — The City of La Porte Police Department has confirmed the arrest of Jordan Jackson and Larry Jackson in connection with a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning at the Maple Tree Apartments, 1405 W. 18th Street.

At approximately 1:10 a.m., officers were dispatched to the complex after receiving reports of a male victim who had been shot. Upon arrival, first responders located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately provided with emergency medical aid and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Through rapid investigative work, officers identified Jordan Jackson, 23, as the suspect who had fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. The La Porte Police SWAT team, in coordination with the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at a secondary location, taking Jackson into custody without further incident.

During the ongoing investigation, detectives determined that a second individual, Larry Jackson, was also involved in the incident. Larry Jackson was subsequently taken into custody.

Authorities have confirmed that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Charges:

  • Jordan Jackson: Attempted Murder, a Level 2 Felony, with additional charges possible as the investigation continues.
  • Larry Jackson: Aiding and Abetting, a Level 2 Felony.

“Our detectives and officers worked diligently to ensure the swift apprehension of both suspects,” the department stated. “We thank the public for their patience as this investigation progresses.”

As always, all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
