LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Heartbreak has struck the Lafayette community following a tragic shooting late Wednesday night that claimed the life of 18-year-old Dynasty Battle of Attica, Indiana, and led to the arrest of 20-year-old Grace Fultz of Lafayette. According to the Lafayette Police Department, the fatal incident occurred on October 15th at a residence located at 911-8 North 9th Street, leaving family, friends, and the community mourning the devastating loss of a young life.
According to police reports, officers were dispatched around 10:52 p.m. after receiving a call regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Dynasty Battle inside the home with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators quickly determined that Grace Fultz was involved in the shooting. A small-caliber pistol was recovered from the residence, and multiple witnesses who were present during the incident were interviewed. Authorities confirmed there are no outstanding suspects or ongoing threats to the public.
Grace Fultz was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
- Involuntary Manslaughter
- Reckless Homicide
- Criminal Recklessness
- Pointing a Firearm
Police stressed that the charges are accusations and that Fultz remains presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
