In Loving Memory — Tragic Incident on the Causeway: Couple Identified as Veromonique Ntseful-Dubose and Taurean Dubose Found in Apparent Murder-Suicide

SPANISH FORT, AL — The communities of Mobile and Baldwin Counties are reeling from heartbreak after authorities confirmed the identities of two individuals found deceased in an apparent murder-suicide on the Causeway early Sunday morning. The victims have been identified as 41-year-old Veromonique Ntseful-Dubose and her husband, 36-year-old Taurean Dubose, both residents of Mobile, Alabama.

According to the Spanish Fort Police Department, officers were dispatched to the eastbound lanes of the Battleship Parkway (Causeway) just after 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025, after a passerby reported a white Chevrolet Tahoe parked in an unusual position along the roadway. Upon arrival, officers discovered both Veromonique and Taurean unresponsive inside the vehicle. Emergency responders quickly determined that both were deceased.

Preliminary findings from investigators indicate that Veromonique had suffered fatal injuries consistent with a homicide, while Taurean appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, suggesting a murder-suicide. Authorities have not yet released details about what may have led to this tragic event, but the case remains an active and ongoing investigation.

Spanish Fort Police Chief Michael Huddleston called the discovery “a deeply tragic situation that has shaken our entire community.” He added, “We are working carefully and compassionately to understand what happened and why. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of both individuals during this unimaginably difficult time.”

Law enforcement officials say there were no recent calls or reports related to domestic disturbances involving the couple in the days leading up to the tragedy. However, investigators continue to gather information about the couple’s recent activities and state of mind.

Known for her vibrant spirit, warm smile, and generous heart, Veromonique touched the lives of many across Mobile through her kindness and unwavering support for those around her.

“She was vibrant, always smiling, and full of life,” said a longtime friend of Veromonique’s. “It’s just hard to understand how something like this could happen. This is a devastating loss, not just for her family, but for everyone who knew her.”

Across social media, heartfelt tributes and condolences have poured in as friends and loved ones share memories of her warmth, her laughter, and the way she made others feel seen and valued.

Meanwhile, those who knew Taurean Dubose say they are struggling to process the tragedy, describing him as a quiet and hardworking man whose actions have left many in disbelief. Authorities have urged the public not to speculate, as investigators work to determine the full circumstances that led to the devastating event.

Chief Huddleston encouraged anyone with information to contact the Spanish Fort Police Department at (251) 626-4914, assuring the public that “all leads and tips will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.”

As the investigation continues, grief counselors and support services are being offered to the couple’s family and friends through local outreach programs.
