In Loving Memory: Remembering Aidan Roy Denny — Tragic Collision on Hwy. 104 Claims Young Life

ANTIGONISH COUNTY, NS — The Antigonish County District RCMP is investigating a tragic fatal collision that occurred on Highway 104 near Dagger Woods Road and Pomquet Monks Head Road late Friday night, leaving Aidan Roy Denny, a beloved young child, dead and several others injured.

The incident happened on November 1 at approximately 9:50 p.m., when emergency services — including police, fire departments, and Emergency Health Services (EHS) — responded to reports of a serious crash involving a car and a large farm or construction vehicle.

When first responders arrived, they discovered that a black Toyota RAV4, carrying four occupants, had been involved in the collision. All four were quickly transported to the hospital by EHS for urgent medical attention. Tragically, one of the passengers, Aidan Roy Denny, was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The news of Aidan’s passing has left the Antigonish community heartbroken and in deep mourning.

Investigation Underway

According to RCMP, the other vehicle involved in the collision — described as a large farm or construction vehicle — did not remain at the scene. However, investigators have since located what they believe to be the vehicle involved, and it has been seized for forensic and mechanical examination.

A collision reconstructionist attended the crash site, and Highway 104 was closed for several hours overnight as officers conducted a detailed investigation. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is also assisting in the case.

Authorities are working diligently to determine the cause of the crash, the events leading up to it, and the sequence of impact that resulted in this devastating loss.
