Our hearts are heavy as the community of Clinton, Tennessee, mourns the heartbreaking loss of 57-year-old Theresa Dipinto, a resident of Washington State, who tragically passed away from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Friday evening, October 11, 2025.
According to the Clinton Police Department, officers responded at approximately 6:00 p.m. to reports of a shooting along the 1200 block of N. Charles Seivers Boulevard. When authorities arrived, they were met with an unimaginable scene—Ms. Dipinto, a passenger in a westbound vehicle, had suffered a fatal injury that was later determined to be self-inflicted.
Before taking her own life, investigators say that Ms. Dipinto shot and killed her dog, who was also in the vehicle. Despite the immediate response from law enforcement and emergency medical personnel, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials described the event as deeply emotional and profoundly tragic, leaving a lasting impact on first responders and all who knew her. The Clinton Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, with the Medical Examiner’s Office set to provide a final report confirming the cause and manner of death.
