The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office has identified the victims as 23-year-old Samuel Dantzler, of Harleyville, and 23-year-old Brianna Wiles, of Round O.
According to officials, the crash occurred when the Chevrolet truck driven by Dantzler veered off the roadway while traveling southbound and struck a tree. Emergency responders were called to the scene, where Dantzler was tragically pronounced deceased. Wiles, who had been a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to Trident Medical Center, where she later passed away from her injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol, in cooperation with the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, no additional details have been released regarding factors that may have contributed to the incident.
