Northport, Alabama | October 21, 2025 -Tragedy struck in Northport early Tuesday morning when 20-year-old McKenzie Miller, a resident of St. Clair County, was killed in a devastating single-vehicle crash along Alabama Highway 69. The heartbreaking incident has left family, friends, and the community in deep mourning over the loss of a young woman whose life was just beginning.
According to Northport Police, the crash occurred at approximately 1:37 a.m. in the 4900 block of Highway 69. When officers and Northport Fire Rescue medics arrived, they discovered a Chevrolet Trax that had veered off the east side of the roadway. Despite immediate emergency efforts, McKenzie Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.
Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter confirmed that the Northport Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation into the cause of the accident. Officials are working to determine what may have led to the vehicle leaving the roadway, including whether factors such as speed, fatigue, or road conditions played a role.
