The Necco Raiders community is heartbroken to share the devastating news of the passing of one of our own — Lucas Ball #35, a beloved Raider since kindergarten. Lucas was more than just a player on the field; he was the embodiment of what it truly means to be a Raider — love, friendship, courage, and championship spirit in every sense.
From his earliest days in the program, Lucas’s energy, determination, and kindness made a lasting impression on everyone he met. His teammates remember his infectious smile, his leadership both in victory and defeat, and his unwavering commitment to the team. To coaches, friends, and families across the Raider community, Lucas wasn’t just a player — he was family.
As we mourn this unimaginable loss, our hearts are with the Ball family, who have been a cherished part of the Raider community for so many years. We grieve alongside Lucas’s friends, classmates, and teammates who shared countless memories — from early practices under the sun to championship games under the lights.
Lucas’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passion for the game, his laughter on the sidelines, and his generous spirit will never be forgotten. Once a Raider, always a Raider.
In honor of Lucas, the Necco Raiders will hold a moment of silence before the 8th-grade game on Saturday, October 18th, at 4 PM. We invite everyone who knew and loved him to join us as we celebrate his life, his light, and his impact on our Raider family.
Please keep the Ball family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time.
Rest easy, Lucas. Your number, your name, and your spirit will forever live on in Raider Nation.
