According to the Virginia State Police, Goodson was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile 88 southbound when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. In an attempt to correct the vehicle’s path, he overcorrected, lost control, and veered into the median, striking a tree. The impact was severe, splitting the vehicle in half and causing it to catch fire. Unfortunately, Goodson died at the scene. Authorities confirmed that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
