Our hearts are heavy as the community of Middletown mourns the loss of John Sora, 88, Sandra Sora, 84, and Katelynn Williams, 33, three precious lives taken too soon in a tragic three-vehicle crash near the intersection of Ohio 122 and Dixie Highway on Saturday evening.
Authorities have confirmed that John Sora, of Middletown, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Atrium Medical Center. His beloved wife, Sandra Sora, and Katelynn Williams were airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital via CareFlight. Despite the best efforts of medical teams, both Sandra and Katelynn later passed away from their injuries.
The devastating crash occurred around 8 p.m., prompting authorities to close the busy intersection for several hours while investigators with the Middletown Division of Police and the Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (START) worked to piece together what happened. The intersection was reopened shortly before 11 p.m.
According to police, speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the collision, making this heartbreaking loss all the more difficult to comprehend. What began as an ordinary evening ended in unimaginable tragedy — leaving behind grieving families, friends, and a community in mourning.
John and Sandra Sora were well-known and deeply loved by those who knew them. Their bond, built over decades of love and devotion, now serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the strength of lifelong companionship. Katelynn Williams, just 33 years old, was described by those close to her as a bright light — full of kindness, energy, and love for those around her.
As family and friends begin to navigate this painful road ahead, our hearts and prayers go out to them. May they find comfort in each other and strength in the beautiful memories left behind.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information is urged to contact Sgt. Rogers at 513-425-7918 as the investigation continues.
Let us come together as a community to honor their memory, pray for peace, and hold their loved ones close in thought and spirit.
Rest in peace, John, Sandra, and Katelynn.
You will never be forgotten.
