The heartbreaking incident unfolded when first responders were called to the boat ramp at Nel-Win Camp just after 1:40 p.m., following reports of a possible drowning.

According to the Tunica County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived to find a truck and trailer submerged in the water. A man, later identified as John Reeves of Tunica, Mississippi, was discovered unresponsive on the bank of the lake. Emergency crews with Pafford Emergency Medical Services immediately administered life-saving measures, but despite their best efforts, Reeves was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tunica County Coroner.

Authorities have not released further details regarding how the vehicle entered the water or the events leading up to the tragic discovery. The investigation remains ongoing as deputies work to determine the circumstances surrounding Reeves’ death.
