The Butler County community is mourning the tragic loss of Cory R. McQuitty, 23, of Hamilton, who passed away after a devastating vehicle collision in Hanover Township on Saturday morning.
According to the Butler County Coroner’s Office, Cory was pronounced deceased after sustaining multiple traumatic injuries in the accident. Emergency crews responded to reports of the incident around 5:45 a.m. in the 3700 block of Reily Millville Road near Woodbine Road, where Cory was found lying in the roadway.
Authorities reported that the first 911 call came from a driver traveling eastbound in a white van, who stated that they ran over a male lying in the middle of the road. A second call confirmed the presence of Cory on the roadway and indicated that another vehicle may have struck him and left the scene.
Cory R. McQuitty was the lone victim of this heartbreaking accident. Investigators are actively working to determine the full circumstances and have asked anyone with information about the crash to contact Sgt. Steven Poff at 513-785-1218.
