PHOENIX, Ariz. — Heartbreak and grief have struck the South Phoenix community following the tragic death of 21-year-old Angel Rodriguez Tapia, who was fatally shot late Thursday night near 41st Avenue and Buckeye Road.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly before 11 p.m. on October 30, 2025. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man later identified as Angel Rodriguez Tapia suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite the swift response from emergency personnel, Tapia succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
