According to Luzerne County Coroner Dion Fernandes, an autopsy confirmed that Jones passed away from multiple traumatic injuries sustained in the crash.

The accident occurred near Linden Drive around 11:30 a.m., as Jones was traveling south in the passing lane. Her vehicle was struck head-on by a northbound vehicle operated by a male driver. The force of the collision tragically ended Jones’ life, while the other driver and two passengers, a woman and a toddler, were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
