LAMAR COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia State Patrol has released preliminary details regarding a tragic crash that claimed the life of 40-year-old Kaleb Spell of Barnesville on the morning of Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

According to the initial report, troopers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:35 a.m. on Georgia 7 at Northwood Drive following a serious collision involving two vehicles. Investigators say a Toyota Camry, driven by Kaleb Spell, was traveling west on Northwood Drive approaching the intersection with Georgia 7. A Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling north on Georgia 7 in the left lane when the Toyota failed to yield to oncoming traffic after stopping and pulled directly into the Jeep’s path.

The Toyota was struck on the driver’s side, and emergency personnel had to extricate Kaleb Spell from the vehicle. Despite the efforts of first responders on scene, Spell succumbed to his injuries. The passenger of the Toyota, a 6-year-old female, was transported to Atrium Children’s Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee was checked at the scene and released to his parents.
