ST. LOUIS, MO — What began as an ordinary late-Saturday night turned into tragedy for a family and community now grieving the loss of 32-year-old Stanley Scott, a beloved father of five, who was fatally shot in South City.
At approximately 12:30 AM on Sunday, October 26, 2025, officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s District 3 responded to the 2800 block of Gasconade after receiving reports of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Stanley inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Several individuals at the scene were already attempting to help him—an emotional display of neighbors and loved ones doing everything they could.
Officers immediately began performing life-saving measures until EMS arrived. Stanley was rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite every effort, he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.
Stanley Scott leaves behind five children, who now must face a future without the presence, love, guidance, and support of their father—a deeply painful reality that no family should ever have to bear.
Investigation Underway
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Early findings suggest that the gunfire occurred outside, though Stanley was found inside the home afterward.
Detectives are working to gather surveillance footage, trace potential witnesses, and identify those responsible. At this time, no arrests have been announced.
