MARSHALL, TX — October 26, 2025 -The Marshall Police Department is actively investigating the tragic homicide of 48-year-old Carlos Dewayne Hill, which occurred Sunday evening and has left the community in shock and his family grieving an unimaginable loss.
At approximately 8:56 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1900 block of Bean Street. Upon arrival, officers located Mr. Hill deceased at the scene. Preliminary information indicates that the suspect fled the area prior to police arrival.
A Community Shaken
Carlos Dewayne Hill’s death has deeply affected those who knew him. He was a member of the community, a person with a life, relationships, and personal story. His sudden passing has created a painful void for his family, friends, and neighbors who are struggling to understand why this happened.
