CLINTON WOMAN FATALLY SHOT; EX-BOYFRIEND CARLTON D. MACK WANTED FOR QUESTIONING IN DEADLY DOMESTIC INCIDENT

CLINTON, Miss.  — Tragedy struck late Monday night when 45-year-old Jasmine Singleton was fatally shot inside her home on Cedar Hill Drive in Clinton. Authorities have since identified her ex-boyfriend, 42-year-old Carlton D. Mack, as a person of interest in the case and are actively searching for him in connection with the deadly shooting.

According to the Clinton Police Department, officers responded to a shots-fired call just after 11 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, at a residence in the 900 block of Cedar Hill Drive. When they arrived, they discovered Singleton lying on the kitchen floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a gold Chevrolet Tahoe fleeing the area moments after the gunfire erupted. Police later determined that the vehicle was registered to Carlton D. Mack, Singleton’s ex-boyfriend. Authorities say Mack has a history of domestic violence-related arrests, and his connection to Singleton has made him the prime suspect in this ongoing homicide investigation.

Hours later, officers located the suspect’s Chevrolet Tahoe abandoned in Jackson, where it was recovered by Clinton Police with assistance from local law enforcement agencies. Investigators are now working to determine Mack’s current whereabouts and are urging the public to come forward with any information that may lead to his capture.

“This is a heartbreaking case of domestic violence that ended in tragedy,” a Clinton Police spokesperson said. “We are doing everything we can to locate Mr. Mack and bring justice for Jasmine and her loved ones.”

Neighbors described Singleton as a kind-hearted and hardworking woman who loved her family deeply and often greeted everyone in her community with warmth and positivity. Many expressed shock and sadness over her sudden and violent death, calling it a devastating reminder of the dangers of domestic violence.

The Clinton Police Department continues to investigate with the support of the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and surrounding agencies.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Carlton D. Mack is urged to contact the Clinton Police Department at 601-924-5252 or call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

In loving memory of Jasmine Singleton (1980–2025) — a beloved daughter, friend, and community member whose life was tragically taken too soon. May her soul rest in peace, and may justice be served in her name.
