Camden Man Arrested for Brother’s Murder; Authorities Continue Investigation

CAMDEN, NJ – Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez have announced the arrest of Anarkis Delgado, 28, in connection with the fatal shooting of his brother, 29-year-old Raymond Delgado, on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Authorities say the investigation was led by detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, including Detective Luis Sibaja Jr., alongside Detective Andrew Mogck of the Camden County Police Department.

Anarkis Delgado has been charged with 1st-degree murder in the death of Raymond Delgado. In addition, he faces multiple firearm-related charges, including 2nd-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, 2nd-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and 2nd-degree violation of certain persons not to possess firearms.

According to officials, at approximately 11:09 a.m., Camden County Police officers responded to the 500 block of Pearl Street following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Raymond Delgado suffering from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk. He was immediately transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:31 p.m.

During the subsequent investigation, detectives from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and Camden County Police Department determined that Anarkis Delgado was responsible for the shooting. He later surrendered himself at the Camden County Police Department and was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.

Prosecutor MacAulay and Police Chief Rodriguez emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing. Officials reminded the public that all individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The incident has shocked the Camden community, where neighbors described the Delgado family as longstanding members of the area. Law enforcement continues to appeal to the public for assistance, emphasizing that community cooperation is vital in violent crime investigations.

Authorities have stated that they will provide additional updates as the investigation progresses and that every effort is being made to ensure a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
