CARMARTHEN, WALES — It is with profound sadness that the Carmarthen Quins Mini & Juniors community mourns the tragic loss of Leon, a cherished Under-15 player, who passed away on October 30, 2025.
Leon had been a proud member of the Quins for three seasons, and during that time, he became much more than just a teammate — he was a friend, a supporter, and a source of joy for everyone around him. Coaches, team managers, and fellow players remember Leon as a passionate, dedicated, and kind-hearted young player, whose love for rugby and commitment to his team inspired those around him.
“Leon will be sorely missed by his teammates, coaches, team manager, and anyone who had the pleasure and honour to meet him during his time with the Quins,” the club shared in a statement.
The Quins community has expressed their heartfelt condolences to Leon’s family and friends, acknowledging the immense grief that comes with losing such a vibrant young life. Tributes have poured in from across the club, celebrating Leon’s spirit, enthusiasm, and friendship, and the indelible mark he left on his teammates and peers.
“He brought energy, laughter, and commitment to every training session and match. His legacy will remain in the memories and hearts of all who knew him,” said one coach.
The club encourages everyone to support one another during this difficult time and to honour Leon’s memory by remembering the joy and camaraderie he brought to the Carmarthen Quins family.
Funeral and memorial arrangements will be shared by Leon’s family in due course. Until then, the Quins community stands united in grief, love, and remembrance.
Rest in Peace, Leon.
Your passion, spirit, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of your teammates, coaches, and everyone at the Quins.
