In Loving Memory of Guillermo Beltran Jr. (2001–2025)

City of Eagle Pass, Texas — The tight-knit community of Eagle Pass is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 24-year-old Guillermo Beltran Jr., who tragically lost his life in a fatal crash early Wednesday morning, October 29, 2025, in Midland County, Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m. when Beltran was driving a 2023 Cadillac CT4 northbound on County Road 1270. For reasons still under investigation, his vehicle veered out of its lane and collided head-on with the front of a 2013 Freightliner semi-truck that was parked on the shoulder of the southbound lane.

Authorities confirmed that Beltran was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. Despite prompt response from Midland County emergency personnel, he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the parked semi-truck was not injured in the incident.

The Texas DPS continues to investigate the exact circumstances surrounding the crash, including what may have caused the vehicle to drift out of its lane. Preliminary findings indicate that speed, fatigue, or inattention may have played a role, but an official determination has not yet been made.

News of Guillermo’s passing has sent waves of sorrow throughout Eagle Pass, where he was well known and deeply loved. Friends, family members, and former classmates have taken to social media to express their condolences, remembering him as a kind-hearted, fun-loving, and ambitious young man whose life was full of promise. Many recall his contagious smile, generous nature, and the way he brought joy to every gathering he attended.

His tragic death serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of road safety, particularly on rural highways and during late-night travel hours. The Texas Department of Public Safety urges all drivers to wear seat belts at all times, avoid distractions, and exercise caution when navigating dark or less-traveled roads.

At the time of this report, funeral arrangements for Guillermo Beltran Jr. were still pending, and additional details will be released by his family as they prepare to honor and celebrate his life.

The loss of such a young and vibrant member of the community is felt deeply across Eagle Pass. As loved ones come together in mourning, they remember Guillermo not for the way he left this world, but for the joy, laughter, and love he shared during his 24 beautiful years.

May Guillermo Beltran Jr. rest in eternal peace, and may his family and friends find comfort and strength in the love and memories he leaves behind.
