In Loving Memory of Lakeboy Vito (1999–2025)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Heartbreak has swept through the Tallahassee community following the tragic death of 26-year-old Lakeboy Vito, who was fatally shot on Wednesday, October 29, along Aenon Church Trail.

According to the Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), deputies responded around 12:30 p.m. to the 5700 block of Aenon Church Trail after receiving reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle stopped in the roadway with an adult male victim inside — later identified as Lakeboy Vito. He had sustained a gunshot wound, and deputies immediately began life-saving efforts. Sadly, despite their best attempts, Lakeboy was pronounced deceased at the scene at approximately 12:48 p.m.

Detectives quickly launched an investigation, identifying 34-year-old Trevon Cloud as the suspect in the shooting. Cloud fled the scene before law enforcement arrived but was later located and arrested in Gadsden County with the assistance of local authorities. He has since been charged with second-degree murder and booked into the Leon County Detention Facility.

Sheriff Walt McNeil commended the seamless collaboration among agencies, stating,

“We’re grateful for the swift teamwork with the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, whose help was instrumental in locating and safely taking the suspect into custody. This tragedy serves as a reminder of the strong partnerships among law enforcement agencies working to keep our communities safe.”

News of Lakeboy Vito’s untimely passing has left his loved ones and the broader community in deep mourning. Friends and family remember him as a kindhearted, humble, and loyal young man who brightened every room he entered. His infectious smile, gentle nature, and unwavering love for others made him truly special to everyone who knew him.

As investigators continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding this senseless act of violence, the Leon County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward.

Though his life was tragically cut short, Lakeboy Vito’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His spirit, kindness, and laughter will never be forgotten.
