Three Lives Lost in Heartbreaking Monroe Triple Homicide; Suspect Arrested

MONROE, LA — The Monroe community is mourning the tragic loss of 27-year-old Jamal Bosley, 25-year-old Jaborris Simpson, and a two-year-old female child, who were all found deceased following a fatal shooting early Tuesday morning. According to the Monroe Police Department (MPD), officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Grammont Street at approximately 2:56 a.m. on October 28, 2025, after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless bodies of the three victims inside a residence, marking one of the most heartbreaking incidents to occur in the community this year.

MPD detectives immediately initiated an extensive investigation into the triple homicide, working diligently to identify and apprehend those responsible for this senseless act of violence. Through their tireless efforts and assistance from concerned citizens, investigators identified 24-year-old Travis Payton as a suspect. Payton was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of First-Degree Murder, Home Invasion, and Criminal Conspiracy.

Authorities have stated that the investigation remains active as they continue to determine whether additional individuals were involved. “We remain committed to bringing all persons responsible for this despicable crime to justice,” the department said in a statement. “We will not stop until every individual accountable for the deaths of these victims—including the tragic loss of a two-year-old child—is held responsible.”
