ALCOA, Tenn. — The Maryville and Alcoa communities are mourning the heartbreaking loss of James Brooks, a 36-year-old man who tragically passed away following a single-vehicle crash on Hall Road Monday evening.
According to the Alcoa Police Department (APD), the fatal crash occurred on October 27, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m. near Fulton Street. Officers from the APD, along with members of the Alcoa Fire Department (AFD) and American Medical Response (AMR), responded immediately to reports of a serious crash involving a truck.
Investigators determined that James Brooks was driving north on Hall Road when his vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a tree in the median, and came to rest in the northbound lanes. Witnesses quickly called for help as first responders arrived on the scene to find Mr. Brooks unresponsive. Despite the swift actions of emergency personnel, he was later pronounced deceased at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he had been transported by AMR.
Authorities from the APD Traffic Reconstruction Team continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash. At this time, no additional details have been released regarding possible contributing factors.
