According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 5:25 a.m. on Jim Spence Road near Addie Lucas Road.
George was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, struck a culvert, and then collided with a tree. Though emergency responders rushed him to a nearby hospital, Coroner Margaret Fisher later confirmed that George passed away from his injuries. Authorities noted that George was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
