Natchitoches Man Eric Jackson, 58, Fatally Shot; Stephanie Walker, 53, Charged With Murder

NATCHITOCHES, La. — A Tragic Night Ends in the Death of Eric Jackson, 58, and the Arrest of Stephanie Walker, 53, After a Shooting on South Drive

A Saturday evening in Natchitoches turned tragic when 58-year-old Eric Jackson was shot and killed, and 53-year-old Stephanie Walker later approached police and claimed responsibility for the shooting. The deadly incident took place on October 25, in the 1800 block of South Drive, according to the Natchitoches Police Department.

Around 8:55 p.m., officers responded to 911 calls reporting multiple gunshots in the area. Upon arrival, they located Eric Jackson suffering from several gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began first aid efforts until medical personnel arrived, but despite their attempts to save his life, Jackson succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner’s Office.

As officers worked to secure the scene, gather evidence, and speak with witnesses, they were approached by Stephanie Walker, who told officers that she was responsible for the shooting. Detectives continued their investigation, interviewing individuals and collecting physical evidence. Based on the findings, authorities later obtained a search warrant for a residence connected to the incident.

Walker was taken into custody, interviewed, and subsequently charged with second-degree murder. She has since been booked into the LaSalle Corrections – Natchitoches Detention Center, where she remains.

At this time, investigators have not released a possible motive or details about what led to the deadly confrontation. The case remains active and ongoing.
