Fugitive Sought in Santa Fe Homicide; Victim Identified as Reynaldo Corado-Medina, Suspect as Chester “Cozy” Gutierrez

Santa Fe, New Mexico — The Santa Fe community is on high alert as police search for 45-year-old Chester Lemarc Patrick Gutierrez, also known as “Cozy,” who is wanted in connection with the killing of 32-year-old Reynaldo Corado-Medina. The fatal stabbing occurred Saturday evening, October 25, 2025, and an arrest warrant for homicide has been issued for Gutierrez, who authorities warn should be considered armed and dangerous.

The incident unfolded around 4:45 p.m. near the intersection of Cerrillos Road and Rodeo Road. Santa Fe Police responded after receiving reports of a “man down.” When officers arrived, they found Reynaldo Corado-Medina suffering from a stab wound to the chest, lying in the turning median at the southeast corner of the intersection. Officers immediately attempted life-saving measures, and paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, Corado-Medina later died from his injuries. His family has since been notified of his passing.

Suspect Information

Police have identified Chester Lemarc Patrick Gutierrez as the suspect responsible for the deadly attack. Gutierrez is believed to be unhoused and may still be in the Santa Fe area. Witnesses reported seeing him shortly after the stabbing, walking northbound on Cerrillos Road while pushing a shopping cart. At the time, he was wearing:

Authorities are urging the public to not approach Gutierrez under any circumstances. If seen, call 911 immediately.
