Two Suspects Arrested After Early Morning Shooting on Trawick Road

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Raleigh Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning involving two victims and resulting in the arrests of Gabriel Hester, 20, and Kemarcus Bryant, 24, in connection with the incident.

According to officials, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:06 a.m. on October 26, 2025, to the 3000 block of New Bern Avenue after receiving reports of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Responding patrol officers located the victim inside a vehicle that had left the initial scene of the shooting, which police determined took place in the 1700 block of Trawick Road.

The first victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Second Victim Arrives at Hospital Minutes Later

Just six minutes later, at approximately 3:12 a.m., officers were notified of a second gunshot victim who had walked into the hospital seeking medical treatment. That victim was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not yet released additional details regarding the relationship between the two victims or the events immediately leading up to the gunfire.

Two Suspects Now in Custody

Following the initial response and investigation, officers identified and arrested 20-year-old Gabriel Hester and 24-year-old Kemarcus Bryant. Both suspects are facing multiple felony charges stemming from the shooting.

Gabriel Hester (20) has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury
  • Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle (4 counts)
  • Discharging a Firearm in City Limits

Kemarcus Bryant (24) has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury
  • Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle (4 counts)
  • Discharging a Firearm in City Limits

Both men were taken into custody without incident. Police have not yet disclosed a possible motive or whether the parties involved knew each other.

Investigation Remains Active

The Raleigh Police Department is urging anyone with additional information, eyewitness accounts, or video recordings to come forward as detectives continue piecing together the events leading up to the shooting.
