In Loving Memory of Advanced EMT and Rescue Technician Fred Kemp

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Fred Kemp, a dedicated Advanced EMT and Rescue Technician, who tragically died in the line of duty today during a training exercise.

Fred was hospitalized on Sunday following the incident and fought valiantly, but despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he passed away today. His loss is deeply felt across our entire department and community.

With 28 years of distinguished service, Fred was more than a colleague—he was a mentor, a leader, and a friend to all who had the privilege of working alongside him. His unwavering dedication to saving lives and helping others embodied the true spirit of public service.

This is an extremely difficult time for our agency, and we are in close contact with the Kemp family to ensure they receive the love, support, and care they need during this unimaginable loss.

Fred’s legacy will forever live on through the countless lives he touched, the colleagues he trained, and the community he served so faithfully. His commitment, courage, and compassion will never be forgotten.

Please keep the Kemp family, friends, and our first responder community in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn the loss of a true hero.

Rest easy, Fred. We’ll take it from here.
