Police have since arrested 21-year-old David Smith in connection with the killing. The Mobile Police Department is investigating the homicide, which occurred at Wilmer Hall, 3811 Old Shell Road, late Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
According to police, the incident unfolded at approximately 11:31 p.m., when officers were dispatched to Wilmer Hall in response to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered Amiayia White deceased inside the location after she was shot by a known male subject. Despite emergency response efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following a rapid investigation, detectives identified David Smith, 21, as the suspect responsible for the fatal shooting. On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Smith was taken into custody and transported to Mobile County Metro Jail, where he now faces charges related to White’s death.
